The NIS 2 Directive is a cybersecurity risk management and incident reporting framework for essential and important entities. NIS2 expands on the first NIS directive, stipulating mandatory cybersecurity obligations for more sectors.

NIS 2 is more focused on critical infrastructure than NIS 1 and puts more emphasis on risk management and reporting. Importantly, it increases security along supply chains and enhances collaboration to prevent and combat cyberattacks.
