Solving 5G’s AI problem at MWC Las Vegas 2024

Core Network Optimisation

5G has an AI problem and solving it will be one of the many important issues we’ll discuss with operators at MWC Las Vegas. Around 100,000 people attend the annual convention in the extravagant, neon city of fun. It’s the most important mobile ecosystem event on the calendar and we’ll be meeting with industry leaders and up-and-comers.

There are loads of topics that will be explored at the MWC Las Vegas 2024. However, one critical issue stands out to us.

5G’s AI problem

Everything is getting AI, and AI traffic is expected to overwhelm 5G network capacity by 2027. Operators need to act now to avoid network congestion.

Devices and machinery are uploading greater data loads than previous traffic flows. The proliferation of connected cars is an example. In particular, self-driving cars will send staggering amounts of data to the cloud for analysis and receive processed data to carry out journeys.

Solving 5G’s AI problem

There are two options operators can take to manage the problem. The first is to deploy 6G to avoid traffic congestion, but that is a few years away. The second, more practical option, is core network optimisation, which can happen now.
